DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE
Once again I'm back as HOG Director but this time I have also taken on again the Safety Officer portfolio. You might think that I must be nuts to take on both roles but my passion for Road Safety and the manner in which we ride and portray ourselves is of the highest importance to me. Not only that, I hope that we can help to reduce accidents by working with the authorities to promote safe riding. However, I'm not the only one in the new committee who has agreed to take on more than one position; Dennis Quah is now not only our Photographer but also our Editor. Carlos, one of our new Activities Officers is also a Road Captain and Lindley White our new Asst Secretary will also be our Membership Officer and relieve Colin, our amazing Secretary, of some of his work. As always our primary aim is to RIDE & HAVE FUN. But in doing so, we will also help those less fortunate in our community by raising funds for them though our charity work throughout the year. I hope that as many of you as possible will support us in these events. We will of course have lots of activities with local events some of which will be organised by our Ladies of Harley and also overnight rides into Malaysia. Some of you asked for longer rides and we will explore this at committee and come up with a variety of rides which will be either just for a day or for two or three days. We may even arrange one even longer event sometime next year. Again we would like as many of you as possible to join us on these rides. With regard to Road Safety, we will be cooperating with the Traffic Police conjunction with HDS in promoting safe riding to various organisations, especially to those younger riders who are at greatest risk. We will be having a Budget Meeting as soon as possible so that we can plan for the remainder of this year and events for 2009. There will be a Deeparaya Charity Ride in October Of course there will also be our Toy Run sometime near Christmas and I hope that you will join us for both of these worthy causes. Our website is about to be updated, but please log on now to see all the recent event photos. I look forward to seeing you all soon at our events or rides. Ride Safe.
