It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Harley Owner's Group (Singapore) Chapter.
Our Chapter has now enjoyed 15 years in Singapore, and has always espoused the motto familiar to HOG chapters globally:
“To Ride and Have Fun.”
Our members, both men and women, come from various walks of life, various backgrounds, and a wide age range, so it is not at all difficult to live up to this motto. Even our children can join in the fun. It has not been just about riding and having fun however, it is about making a difference in other people's lives as well. The group has regular charity activities, community service and even participation in national events such as the National Day Parade. It is through these activities that members have the opportunity to foster camaraderie, not only amongst themselves, but along with a wider community too. That makes us special and really helps to make it all worthwhile.
As your Director, I feel it is imperative for the group to continue all the good things it has been doing. We can even make HOG Singapore better, stronger and more fun. We shall organize unique and worthwhile activities with the same passion as we have for our riding. We shall strengthen the bond between members, listening to what each has to say, respecting individual opinions and views, yet making decisions for the greater good. As we continue to grow and welcome new members we can meet and connect with new friends who share our enthusiasm and zeal --- not just in our own chapter, but in other chapters in the region and beyond.
Our variety of nationality, culture and background makes HOG Singapore Chapter a truly
interesting place to be. The experience, skill and the knowledge each individual has to offer can
be shared with the group. One way of sharing and contributing is to assist the group as marshals during rides. All HOG Members have the opportunity to be trained as marshal.
Alternatively, you may want to share/exercise your knowledge and skills by volunteering,
working with our committee. You may even wish to join the committee yourself at our next AGM
and make your HOG Singapore experience truly unique and fun.
We remain firm advocates of riding safely and responsibly. We wish to demonstrate by example
that the general perception that Harley riders are like "any other riders" is false. I ask you to join me in continuing to promote safe and responsible riding, to challenge ourselves in organizing many more worthwhile charity and community activities, and to advance this culture not just for us, but more importantly for generations to come.
Let's ride on!
