Pontian Paradise Ride: From Farm to the Sea

Pineapple Farm Visit

Our first major stop brings us to a renowned pineapple plantation in the Pontian district, where the rich volcanic soil produces some of Johor’s sweetest fruit. Wander through neat rows of spiky green plants while a local guide shares the story of how this tropical icon is cultivated and harvested. Riders can taste freshly cut pineapple straight from the field—a refreshing treat after the morning ride. Please note: the farm visit is weather-dependent and may be adjusted for rider safety if heavy rain is forecast.

Scenic Coastal Cruise

From the farm we’ll continue along the Straits of Malacca, riding through fishing villages, mangrove forests and sweeping ocean views. The federal roads in this region are known for their gentle curves and long, open stretches—perfect for the rumble of a Harley V-twin. Expect cool sea breezes, photo stops at picturesque jetties, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the camaraderie of fellow HOG members.

Oceanfront Seafood Feast

We’ll finish the ride with an early lunch at a waterfront restaurant overlooking the wide expanse of the Straits. Freshly caught fish, prawns and crab will be on the menu as we relax to the sound of waves and share stories from the road. This hearty seafood spread is the perfect reward before we begin our return journey.

Return via Pulai River Bridge

After lunch, we’ll head back toward Singapore on a short but scenic ride across the famous Pulai River Bridge. This stretch offers sweeping views of lush mangroves and the busy port—a photographer’s delight. Traffic is usually light, which makes for a relaxed cruise, but keep an eye out for local cyclists who share the road and could use a proper lane. The bridge’s modern architecture and expansive vistas of river and coastline provide a memorable final highlight before we roll into Gelang Patah and cross back to Singapore. We expect to end the ride before 2:00 pm.
